My son loves the focus on IT and the structure. The emphasis on technology that is used to complement the curriculum has helped him develop academically.

I am re enrolling my son at CMIT because I have been very happy with the school. The structure and class sizes are small and I feel that my son needs this.

CMIT South will academically prepare my son in areas of science, math and IT… The areas that will make him competitive and saleable in his future working society.

My name is Katie Amos (kamos@cmitsouth.org)and I am the Professional School Counselor at Chesapeake Math and IT South Public Charter School.

Here’s a quick sneak peek of my life…

I moved quite a bit growing up,  but ultimately call Hanover, Pennsylvania my home. I didn’t really know what I wanted to be when I was in high school, but I went on a few college visits during my junior and senior year, and before I knew it I was attending West Chester University.

At WCU I participated in a field experience where I worked with at-risk youth in West Philadelphia. It was during that experience that I knew School Counseling was my calling. I graduated from West Chester University with a B.A in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish.

I then went on to pursue my Master’s Degree at Messiah College. I earned my M.A in School Counseling in 2017.

My School Counseling journey has led me to Upper Marlboro, MD to serve the students, parents, and community at CMIT-South.

Outside of my school counselor life, I enjoy being outdoors, snuggling my cats, and spending time with my family.
