Prince George’s County Public Schools Dual Enrollment

In keeping with our goals to insure that every child is college and career ready, Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) high school juniors and seniors have the opportunity to earn college credit, while still in high school through the Dual Enrollment Program.

What is dual enrollment?

High school students who are also taking courses at a college or university.

PGCPS students must meet the following criteria

  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

  • Enrolled in 11th or 12th grade

  • Meet college requirements on college admissions tests – SAT, ACT, Accuplacer

  • Provide own transportation to and from the college campus

  • Minimum admissions requirements may vary at each college

PGCPS will pay for:

  • Tuition for ALL students dually enrolled in qualified courses at any Maryland public college or university.

  • Fees and textbooks ONLY for students who receive free and reduced meals (FARMS).

  • Fees range from $120-$300 depending on the school selected

  •  Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions

How do I apply?

  • Take college placement exam – Accuplacer,SAT,ACT

  • Meet with guidance counselor to identify course(s) and documentation needed

  • Complete application packet

  • Each institution may have a different admissions process.Please contact them directly for additional details.
