On Saturday, February 11, three of our 6th grade Tigers, Jayden Anigabor, Mokorinayo Adelakun, and Ezekiel Mangubat represented CMIT South in the MathCounts Potomac Chapter Level competition (which consists of PG County and Montgomery County students). As a result, we are pleased to announce that Ezekiel Mangubat is advancing to the State Finals on March 28!

  NCWIT proudly announces the 2023 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) national recipients, honoring 400 high school students from 44 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and all U.S. overseas military bases. Each year, U.S. high school students in grades 9 through 12 who are women, genderqueer, or non-binary are eligible to receive recognition for their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education. Noah Murray received a $1,000.00 scholarship to participate in the Amazon AHEAD program where he will learn to code and design video games on Amazon's Luna platform. The program will meet virtually starting February 5th and run throughout the rest of the school year (on the weekends). At the conclusion of the program he will present the game he created to Amazon. On January 28th, Noah goes to Amazon's Crystal City headquarters to be an 'Amazonian' for a day where he will have exposure to their innovation labs and meet with Amazon IT professionals of different levels. During the week of March 20-24, 2023, CMIT South MS and HS will host its 1st annual STEM Week and 1st annual STEM Expo. STEM fair projects and research will be underway in science classes and we want the competition to heat up! We are also highlighting a few projects for PGCPS Science Fair next month!
